Toddlers love giraffes and at Longneck Manor, when toddlers meet giraffes we believe that a love for wildlife and conservation starts early. That’s why we created Tower Tales, a special toddler program designed to spark curiosity, joy, and a lasting connection to animals in the youngest members of our community. Led by our incredible Director of Education, Elizabeth Johnson, this program is part of Longneck Manor’s ongoing mission to provide ethical, and impactful wildlife education right here in the Texas Hill Country.
Five reasons toddlers love Tower Tales:
1. It’s Fun and Engaging—toddlers love giraffes
Toddlers learn best through play and storytelling — and Tower Tales is full of both! Elizabeth brings stories to life with interactive reading, and sensory activities that keep children laughing, moving, and engaged. Then they get to feed our tall friends!
2. It’s A Unique Wildlife Experience
Where else can toddlers meet a giraffe as part of storytime? Tower Tales goes beyond ordinary toddler programs by giving children a safe introduction to rare and endangered species. And because Longneck Manor is AZA-accredited, you can trust that every animal interaction prioritizes both safety and animal well-being.
3. You Get An Incredible Teacher
Elizabeth Johnson, our Director of Education, brings passion, warmth, and years of expertise to the program. She has a gift for connecting with young children and weaving lessons of empathy, respect, and wonder into every story. Parents love her energy — and toddlers do too!
4. You’re Supporting a Local Non-Profit
By enrolling your child in Tower Tales, you’re also supporting the Longneck Manor Foundation, a local nonprofit dedicated to wildlife conservation and education. Your participation helps fund animal care, conservation projects, and future educational programs that benefit the entire community.
5. It’s Inspiring the Next Generation of Conservationists
Our founder, Rick Barongi, dreamed of creating a place where education and conservation go hand in hand. Toddlers love giraffes, and by exposing toddlers to wildlife early, we plant the seeds of empathy and responsibility that can grow into a lifelong commitment to protecting the natural world. Tower Tales isn’t just storytime — it’s a step toward leaving a legacy of young conservationists who will carry this mission forward.
✨ Whether you’re a Fredericksburg local or visiting the Texas Hill Country, Tower Tales is the perfect way to introduce your toddler to wildlife in a fun, meaningful, and unforgettable way. It’s only $25 for each parent/toddler pair, and each session is limited to 5 pairs. Toddlers love giraffes, and you will, too.
